The GdRE (European Resarch Group)

The GdRE (Groupement de Recherche Européen = European Research Network) is a structure of the french Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (National Center for Scientific Research). It was created in 2007 to teams from France and other European countries to collaborate on a joint scientific project in the field fo Money, Banking and Finance.

At the beginning, the first International Symposium took place in 1984 at the University of Orleans. The original CNRS Research Network (GdR) was created in 1986 and renewed several times with a change in its title (“money and finance” until 1997, “monetary economics” from 1998 to 2005). 2006 was the trasitional year to the European Research Network (GdRE).
